TYLER - ARTICLE 19: WEAPON OF MASS CREATION

Tyler x Notice. Article 19: Weapon of Mass Creation.

A used spray can, emptied, then hand-finished by the Mumbai street artist Tyler. Each can is stencilled with Article 19 in English and Devanagari, marked with deliberate paint drips, then signed and numbered by hand. The work is about the right to create, speak and dissent, and the tension between independence and freedom of expression.

An edition of 80: 68 in the red Independence Issue and 12 in the black Blackout Issue. Every can had a life before this one, so dents, wear and drip patterns differ from piece to piece. The can is real and completely empty: it is a display object, not a working spray can.
